Acronym for 2 Factor Authentication. Also known as two-step verification or dual-factor authentication. A security process in which the user provides two different authentication factors in the form of verifying the password, email, phone, etc to verify themselves to better protect both the user’s credentials and fund.

Most crypto app or services encourage the use of 2FA to ensure user’s account are not easily hacked by guessing the correct user’s password.
